Maurice Saxby Creative Development Program

The CBCA Victorian Branch is delighted to announce that with the assistance of The Copyright Agency Cultural Fund submissions for the Maurice Saxby Creative Development Program are now open.

This incredible creative and professional development opportunity offers emerging children’s writers and illustrators a two-week mentorship in Melbourne from 17 August to 2 September 2018.

As part of the Program, five winners will have their work mentored by an author/illustrator or specialist editor. They will also meet with published authors/illustrators, publishers and specialist children’s book buyers and visit the State Library of Victoria Children’s Collection, John Marsden’s Candlebark School and Dromkeen.

The program runs during CBCA Children’s Book Week and the Melbourne Writers Festival, providing opportunities for winners to attend workshops and presentations.

Submissions for the Maurice Saxby Creative Development Program close on 31 January 2018 and winners will be announced on 2 April 2018.
