Spotlight: Exclusive Costume Partner for CBCA Book Week 2018

The CBCA is pleased to announce that Australian art, craft and DIY superstore chain Spotlight will be our exclusive costume partner for CBCA Book Week 2018.

Each year across Australia, the CBCA brings children and books together to celebrate CBCA Book Week. During this time, schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children celebrate Australian children’s literature through book character parades and imaginative displays.

This partnership will help educators, parents and children across Australia to celebrate CBCA Book Week in creative and colourful ways.

Nick Casey, Communications Manager, Spotlight, believes that creativity is vital to the development of young people.

“CBCA Book Week has become an iconic part of Australian children’s calendars. We’re excited to be working with the CBCA to help bring our favourite stories and characters to life. We know that book parades and dressing up helps to foster a love of Australian literature, and as the exclusive costume partner Spotlight is excited to be help bring to life the imagination of young people.”

CBCA National Chair, Professor Margot Hillel OAM, says the partnership with Spotlight will help continue to engage the community with literature for young people.

“With this partnership, we are pleased to be able to showcase the work of celebrated children’s author/illustrator Anna Walker whose beautiful artwork features in the 2018 CBCA Book Week merchandise. Anna’s interpretation of the Find Your Treasure theme was created with mixed media including gouache and collage and lends itself well to fun classroom projects such as diorama and poster making.”
